The Army Air Forces War Adjustment Course was established in 1944 at several locations in the U.S., one of which was Harvard Business School. Cornelius was born and raised in Madison (Wisconsin). He volunteered for the U.S. Army Air Force and served with the 96th Bomb Group, 337th Squadron, 8th Air Force in the European theater.
